Many visitors like to take a day trip while they are on holiday, whether its to keep active children amused or just to explore the destination they have chosen.  Corfu has many activities and sights to see and at The Travel Corner we have a varied choice of excellent trips that we highly recommend for a short break away from the sea and the sun.  We can take bookings over the phone with a credit/debit card or you can visit our local office in the resort of Kassiopi.  Below is a summary of the daily itineraries:

This cruise leaves from Kassiopi harbour either in the morning or late afternoon.  The boat travels down the east coast of the island taking in the stunning views of the island from the sea.  Lush green mountains dotted with fabulous villas, tiny villages and along the coast, spectacular bays and coves lined with tavernas and little cafes.  The journey to town takes about 1hr and you will have around 4 hours to do as you please in the town.  Beautiful Corfu Town is a must see for all visitors to the island.  The old town, narrow streets and the Liston area are stunning just to saunter around, stop for refreshments or a meal.  A shopper's paradise, there are numerous shops for designer items, souvenir trinkets, shoes, leather, jewellery and much more.  The beautiful church of St. Spiridon, the island's patron saint, is often the first stop on the sightseer's list.  On the return journey (day trip) the boat occasionally stops in one of the bays along the way, allowing daytrippers to have a dip in the crystal clear, turquoise sea.  This highly popular cruise is recommended to people of all ages.

Departing from Kassiopi's harbour mid morning, this is another of our top trips.  The pleasure cruiser sails leisurely down the northeast coast, stopping at several of the most popular places on this part of the island such as Kalamaki, Kouloura, St. Stefanos and Nissaki.  There is plenty of time for sunbathing on deck whilst enjoying the jaw dropping landscapes from the sea.  If you are lucky you may get to see dolphins along the way as they are seen frequently along this coastline.  One of the longer stops is at the stunning Krouzeri Beach at Nissaki, where there is time for lunch if you wish and you can also enjoy lots of fun at the watersports.  The boat arrives back in Kassiopi around 4pm.  This trip is also recommended to everyone, a big favourite for families.

No holiday to Greece is complete without a sea cruise and here is the chance to visit two other Greek islands in just one day.  An early start and guests are picked up from all resorts by coach and the boat departs from Corfu's main port in town around 9am.  Sailing down the southeastern coast past many other beautiful and popular places along the way, passengers can sun themselves on deck and watch the world go by.  Refreshments can be bought on board.  The boat sails down the west coast of Paxos and visits the breathtaking Blue Caves and from there it goes to the tiny island of Antipaxos where you have the chance to swim in unbelievably clear, turquoise waters.  Back to Paxos and you will have time on land to explore this gem of an island.  Traditional tavernas and cafes line up next to gift shops along the quayside and you will delight in the tranquility of this perfect place.  This trip is recommended to all and, if you prefer, you can drive yourself to town and pick up the boat from there.

One of our most popular daily trips, this excursion is available to be booked from all resorts.  An early start and you will be taken by coach to the ferry port in the town.  Visitors will need their passports.  Cruising up the east coast of Corfu and parallel to the coast of mainland Greece then Albania, you will arrive at the port of Saranda, which is clearly visible from Kassiopi.  You can spend the day exploring the area of the main town, go to the beach or visit the tourist shops or alternatively you can opt to go on a tour to the ancient archaeological site at Butrint about an hours journey inland.  This optional tour is the highlight of the trip, is highly recommended and also includes a light buffet lunch at a restaurant.  A fully guided tour of the site on foot leaves visitors with lasting memories and an insight into life as it was in ancient times.  This tour is not recommended for young children, due to the early start and long day, and the Butrint excursion is not recommended to anyone with walking disabilities.

Another highly recommended trip with an early start and a full day.  The coach picks up from all resorts and passengers board the boat in Corfu Town.  A relaxing cruise down the southeast coast of the island passing many popular resorts such as Benitises, Moraitika and Kavos and then straight onto beautiful Paxos off the tip of Corfu.  The boat moors at the stunning port of Gaios and there is time to wander the little streets, shop for souvenirs or have refreshments in one of the many quay side tavernas.  The cruiser then heads onto the mainland resort of Parga, a picture perfect place with a sheltered bay, overlooked by the ruins of an ancient Venetian castle.  Visitors can meander through the pretty streets, top up their tan on the beach or visit one of the many excellent tavernas for refreshments.  There is plenty of time on the boat for sunbathing and relaxing and on the return journey the cruiser travels close to the coastline allowing you to take in the wonderful scenery of the mainland.  Refreshments can be bought on board from the bar.  Recommended to everyone.

A day out specially for fun and relaxation.  Departing from Kassiopi's harbour mid morning, the cruiser sails leisurely along the northeast coast allowing the passengers to enjoy the marvellous views of the island from the sea.  Stopping for refreshments at one of Corfu's most photographed places, the stunning horseshoe-shaped bay of Kouloura, passengers can walk along the little harbour area and take memorable holiday photographs.  From here the boat travels back northwards, passing pretty little bays and coves along the way.  Going beyond Kassiopi, it finally moors at the long jetty at Kalamaki Beach.  This sandy beach is a local favourite, especially for families and young children as the water is safe and very shallow for a long distance out to sea.  On the beach there is a bar for cool refreshments and sunbeds and parasols can be hired, as well as canoes and pedaloes.  The barbecued food is prepared and the rest of the day is spent eating, relaxing and having fun on the sand.  The cruiser returns to Kassiopi late afternoon.  This trip is very popular with families and groups and is highly recommended.

An unforgettable day out for all members of the family.  This trip leaves daily from all resorts and is a full day of fun and laughter in the sun.  Aqualand is a very well organised water park and has many slides and all types of tubes, from the tiny ones in the childrens' pool to the extreme slides for the braver ones amongst you.  A huge wave pool, large swimming pool and a lazy river offer fun or relaxation for everyone.  Sunbeds are laid out across the park area with parasols and there are several bars poolside as well as a main restaurant.  A gift shop is on site for all your holiday souvenirs or gifts, swimwear, towels and bags.  For your peace of mind, lockers are available for rent for your valuables so you can enjoy your day on the slides to the full.  A great day out with a change of scenery and highly recommended to everyone, from the very young to the old.

Hydropolis is located north of the island at Acharavi.  Much smaller than Aqualand but equally entertaining particularly if your party includes very young children.  Hydropolis has a lazy river, a childrens' pool with small slides and a large pool for swimming.  There is also a great selection of fun slides and winding tubes ensuring there is lots of fun for everyone.  A poolside bar and restaurant are on site and have plenty of snacks, meals and refreshments available.  Two days a week are all inclusive with meals offered, ensuring great value for money for large families.

Another of our top trips, especially in July and August when the evenings are hot and balmy.  Similar to the East Coast Cruise but departing from Kassiopi early evening with a leisurely cruise down the east coast to see the fabulous views of the island from the sea.  At some point the boat moors at the beautiful little port of St.Stefanos allowing passengers time to go for cocktails or dinner at one of the harbour-side tavernas or bars.

Following the same route down the east coast, passengers can sunbathe on the sunny decks of the cruiser and look at the wonderful scenery that Corfu has to offer.  There are so many little bays and inlets which are sadly missed by those who do not take a boat trip.  First stop is at the tiny island of Vidos with time for refreshments and a quick dip and then, cruising southwards past the beautiful and picturesque main town we come to the little bay that is home to the stunning church which is on a walkway jutting out to sea and the famous Mouse Island (Pontikonisi).  On this excursion there is time for swimming in the crystal waters of the Ionian Sea and a small buffet snack is included.

Again we are cruising on the beautiful east coast, with its dramatic coastline, stunning bays and breathtaking views of the mountainous island.  Departing from Kassiopi mid morning, this is a very lazy day with the captain and crew taking the strain and deciding on the best places to stop for swimming, exploring and refreshments.  Passengers can laze on the sun drenched deck of the boat, bathe in the turquoise waters and if they are lucky they may even spot dolphins which are frequent visitors to this coastline and are regularly seen to the delight of everyone.  The boat arrives back in the port of Kassiopi late afternoon.  This is highly recommended to everyone.

For those that enjoy sitting back and watching the world go by this is the tour for you.  Fully guided, the comfortable coach takes you on an excellent tour of the northern part of the island, including a visit to the main town.  Places of interest include Paleokastritsa and the Achilleon Palace and there are many photo opportunities at these beautiful places and many others.  You will see the stunning landscape of the island, the mountainous region and fabulous resorts along the coast, without the worry of  trying to find your own way round.  The coach is air conditioned.

Paleokastritsa is well known for being one of the most beautiful and most photographed places on the island, so a visit there is a must.  This trip departs from Kassiopi and takes approximately 1 hour to get there.  It is not a guided tour, you will be left to do exactly as you please for around 4 hours and  then you will meet the coach at a prearranged time and place for the journey back.  Paleokastritsa has a stunning monastery perched on one of the hilltops with unrivalled views of the whole area and the sea.  The monastery is open to visitors and there is a little shop and taverna nearby for gifts and refreshments.  Several little coves surround the area and there are unlimited spots for swimming and sunbathing, with plenty of shops, cafes and tavernas to keep you refreshed and amused.  Little boat taxis can be hired to take you to visit nearby caves.  No visit to Corfu is complete without experiencing the delights of Paleokastritsa.  A brilliant day out recommended to everyone.

Corfu Town is absolutely exquisite and anyone who visits the island should take time to go there.  Two huge fortresses overlook the town and out to sea and are great to explore, even children love wandering round these ancient sites.  One major point of interest is the Church of St. Spiridon, the island's patron saint.  The town is full of wonderful shops selling a vast array of gifts and souvenirs as well as many shops offering good quality designer items.  There are numerous cafes, tavernas and restaurants nestled alongside little churches and museums so there is plenty here for everyone with all kinds of individual interests.  A maze of narrow streets lead to all corners of the town and it is delightful just to wander through them.  This is not a guided tour, instead you will be left for around 4 hours to do exactly as you please and then you will meet the coach at a prearranged time and place for the return journey.
